Winston
Churchill
Firstly,
I would say about his family. His father was a British aristocrat,
mother an American. His parents wanted him to get a well-rounded
education, but Winston proved to be an independent and rebellious
student until he got into Military school.
Secondly,
in order to get the relevant experience, he was delegated as a Naval
officer serving on 4 continents over for 7 years. Unfortunately he
became a pow during the Boer War. Because of this event, he had a lot
news to tell people. At the early of thirties he was a famous
war-correspondent. Later he chose the career of politician.
Moreover
he was a hard-nosed military strategist who built the Royal Air Force
fighter command to take on the German Luftwaffe. Also he showed
himself as an outstanding diplomat who worked closely with disparate
allies Roosevelt and Stalin.
In
addition Churchill was a gifted writer. He was awarded the Nobel
Prize for his contribution in literature. He was very popular among
Americans. On April 9, 1963 J.F. Kennedy proclaimed him as honorary
citizen of the USA. Churchill was an unordinary person who liked to
travel around the world and drink champagne.
In
conclusion I believe this is the great example of persistence and
hard work to become a successful person.
